Teaching material The availability of Breton teaching material is bad, the quality is reasonable.
Remarks The Skolaj Diwan Jakez Riou makes use of the immersion-method when it comes to education in the minority language. During 65% till 70 % of the lessons the medium of instruction is Breton, the rest is left for French or foreign languages. One of the biggest problems concerning the minority language is, according to An Habask, that the pupils do not often use the language in their daily speech. That is why at the Skolaj Diwan Jakez Riou, Breton is taught in an as attractive and open way as possible.

Remarks
At beginning of school we aimed to teach some subjects in English (biology was taught in past but no longer (no teacher available)). One history lesson now is taught in English a week for one level.

We organize exchanges with schools in Basque Country (Tolosa) and Sorbs in Germany (Ostro), and a school trip to Cornwall for one level. In the past we participated in Celtic festivals (music and dance) in Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Man.
 
A problem is the small number of pupils who use the language at home and difficulty to persuade them to speak outside the lessons
 
We're looking forward to student exchanges, especially for for our 13,14 and 15 year old pupils. Also we are looking for possibilities for correspondence in English (or Spanish or German) with other schools, with the possibility to choose themes according to interest of pupils.

Teacher exchange on language teaching methods, study visits and training is also very much appreciated.

Quality of the teaching material Bad! because there is no material or we have all to invent. Only traductions of school's book exist

In britanny there is a publishing house but it's only traduction of french school's books. Otherwise, we exchange materials between teachers through internet.
Remarks
We use Breton language to teach classic lessons as history, geography, mathematics, sport... We try to save our regional language and develop it in the modern time.
 
We have contact with Sweden, Finland and Sicily (Italy) but not on the language. It's a Comenius partnership without language project.
 
Our main problem is motivation! Parents want their children speak regional language, but pupils are not agree everytime! We would like to know how other schools (try to) to improve children interest for regional language.

Also government don't give money enough or the number of working teachers hours delivered by education ministry is not enough. Sometime we don't get teachers to use breton language.
